Master Library - not found
Master Library Issue - LeaderGuide Pro™ Plus version 8 Users - June 2011
We have a confirmed bug in Librarian version 8, which relates to the Librarian Registry in Excel and occurs after the LGPro Master Library folder has been moved from your local, My Documents area in Windows Explorer to another location.
LeaderGuide Pro™ properly identifies the new location of the Master Library, properly archives content, and correctly updates your Master Librarian records in Excel if requested. But when you open Excel and click on the Librarian tab and try to access the Master Library - it will not be found.
In other words, if you use Librarian to create a record in your Master Librarian Registry in Excel, the record will be made, but:
- When you open Excel, click on the Librarian tab and then click on the Master Library, Excel will tell you it can't find your Master Library record
- And, if you deleted your original Master Library folder from your local drive (My Documents) after moving it to your new location you will receive an error message, which you should ignore.
The Workaround
- Open your Master Librarian Excel spreadsheet from Windows Explorer
- Or use the File>Open function within Excel
Either way, the file path in Windows Explorer will be to the drive where you placed your master library and will end with \LeaderGuide Pro Master Library\zLGPro Librarian Registry Files\LGPro Master Registry(v80110).xlsm
This issue will be corrected in the next release of LeaderGuide Pro™.
