Guide Sheet: About the Free Trial Demo for LeaderGuide Pro™ 7 Plus

Overview

After installing LeaderGuide Pro™ 7 Plus on your computer, it will open in free trial Demo mode, to allow you to evaluate its usefulness relative to your needs. You will have full access to the software and all of its functionality for ten openings or for ten days from when you open the software, whichever comes first. During this evaluation period you will agree to limit your use of the software to testing and evaluation only, and you will agree not to use the software to create leader guides and participant guides for use in actual training programs.

Please purchase a License Key (a.k.a. Product Key) to unlock and Activate the software's full functionality. You will be able to Activate the software even after you exhaust all of your Demo uses, as long as you have a License Key.

Limitations:

  • Limited Access to running the software: Open LeaderGuide Pro by clicking on the red Pro desktop icon. The first time you open LeaderGuide Pro you will be advised that once you start the Demo you will have 10 software openings or ten days - whichever comes first - to try the software.
  • You can only run the Demo once: After you have used your ten openings or ten days, you will not have the ability to run the Demo again or in any way continue to use the software for free.
  • Documents created may not be used for actual training purposes: While in free trial Demo mode any documents you create using LeaderGuide Pro are strictly for software trial purposes only and cannot be used in actual classroom training situations.
  • Free trial Demo documents will be marked as such: While in free trial Demo mode all documents you create using LeaderGuide Pro will contain "Trial Demo" marks in various places and watermarks on the pages. These marks must not be removed. Attempting to remove these marks will result in the software closing and terminating the current Demo opening.
  • Customization functions can be viewed but will not execute: While in free trial Demo mode you may view all of the Utilities that perform template customization functions to see what they do and how they work, but the Utilities will not actually run.
  • george! and LeaderGuide Pro 7 Plus will not interact while either product is in Demo mode: While you can see the options, the george! functionality that allows you to use george! to send slides and notes to leader guides and participant guides will not execute.

Understanding the free trial Demo mode

  • After reading the information provided, click on "Continue"

Next you will see this dialog box explaining that your free access to the software is for evaluation purposes only, and that your 10 day evaluation period begins on the day that you click on "I Accept"

  • After reading the information provided, click on "I Accept"

Next you will see this dialog box, which you will always see first while in free Demo mode. There are three pieces of important information in this dialog box

  1. The number of Demo accesses you have remaining; counts down each time you open
  2. The date that your free trial Demo period ends; counts down by day
  3. How to obtain a License Key (a.k.a. Product Key) and unlock the software for your ongoing use

Creating a new Leader Guide

After clicking on "Click Here to Begin Demo Use" Word will open along with LeaderGuide Pro™ and your screen will look like this

  • Click on the Blank Page button in the upper left corner of the LGPro ribbon

You will see the Create a New Leader Guide dialog box

  • Complete the information requested and click on "Continue"

After Saving you will be in Word with the LGPro ribbon showing and LeaderGuide Pro™ open, on the first page of your new leader guide, which is the Cover page

  • Print this base leader guide so that you can see how it looks on paper and so that you can read the default content that loads with the base leader guide template
  • Because you are in Demo mode there is a special Evaluation Only notice on the cover page that is not there for licensed users

  • And, inside the document in the Getting Started section you will see a special Evaluation Only LGPro Block that is not there for licensed users

When you scroll through to the last page of your new leader guide, your page will look like this

This is the first page of the first Lesson in your leader guide. This is where you begin adding the content your trainer will use to start your training session. Start by typing over "New Lesson" with a Lesson name and click on an LGPro Block on the LGPro ribbon to begin adding your content. Your first LGPro Block will appear below the "Evaluation Only" lock.

The "Evaluation Only" Block must be left in place. While using the free trial Demo an "Evaluation Only" Block will appear each time you add a new Lesson, and must be left in place. These Blocks do not appear for licensed users.

About the "Evaluation Only" Blocks

If you try to delete an Evaluation Only Block you will see a dialog box with a friendly reminder that you must not delete these blocks. And, if you try to delete an Evaluation Only Block a second time you will see this dialog box, reminding you again that you must not delete these blocks.

Trying to delete the Block a third time will bring up this dialog box, advising you that your current Demo session will be ended, closing the software and the document you were in, using up one of your software openings and not saving any changes made to your document.
