Guide Sheet: george! v2 System Requirements

Hardware Requirements

• 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
• Minimum of 2 GB RAM

Software Requirements

• Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 Operating System
• Microsoft Office Standard or Professional Edition 2007 PowerPoint and Word
• OR Microsoft Office Standard or Professional 2003 PowerPoint and Word
• NOTE: The installed versions of PowerPoint & Word must be the same
• Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5
• Visual Studio Office System Runtime 3.0
• NOTE: The george! install program will check to make sure that the .Net Framework and Visual Studio Office System Runtime software are on the computer. If it does not find these prerequisite software programs it will install them for you – as long as the person running the install has full administrator privileges to the computer at the system level and as long as there is an internet connection. Otherwise, please install the prerequisite software separately and then install george!

System Privileges Required to Install george!

• Login and install under the intended user’s profile
• The install is a two-part process: First it checks for the prerequisite software; Next it puts an install icon on the user’s desktop which must be clicked on (click your mouse twice) to complete the install

Visual Studio for Office Runtime 3.0 (VSTOR30 and VSTOR30 SP1)

NOTE: Unlike other software updates, Microsoft did not create the VSTOR30 SP1 update to include all components from the previous VSTOR30 release. Thus, both packages – VSTOR30 and VSTOR30 SP1 – must be downloaded and installed. First install VSTOR30 and then apply the VSTOR30 SP1 patch.

Install Troubleshooting

Trouble Scenario 1

The george! tab is not appearing in PowerPoint and george! DOES appear in the computer’s Control Panel as an added program.

• Using the computer’s Control Panel, check to see if the two prerequisite software programs are installed: Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 and Visual Studio Office System Runtime 3.0
• If you don’t see them BOTH, please install them using the links provided above
• After installing the prerequisite software, double click on the george! install icon on the user’s desktop to complete the install.

Trouble Scenario 2

The george! tab is not appearing in PowerPoint and george! DOES NOT appear in the Control Panel as an added program.

• Make sure that you are installing the correct version of george! on your computer
• Make sure that your system privileges allow you to install add ins to PowerPoint

Additional Information

Access the software by opening PowerPoint and clicking on the george! tab.

george! will open in Free Trial Demo mode.

Software Activation & Registration

• Open PowerPoint and click on the george! tab
• Click on About/Activate
• Complete the Registration Form and click on Register
• You will have the option to Register Online or to Register Manually
