Guide Sheet: How to Run LeaderGuide Pro on a Mac

To run LeaderGuide Pro on a Mac you will need to:

  • Install and run Microsoft Office and LeaderGuide Pro™ on the Microsoft Windows side of your system
  • Either at native speed using Boot Camp
  • Or under a parallel operating system partition using a third party product such as Fusion or Parallels

The Mac configurations we have tested LeaderGuide Pro™ with are:

  • Using Parallels versions 1, 2, and 3 with Windows XP & Microsoft Office Professional 2003
  • Using Fusion versions 1, 2, and 3 with Windows XP & Microsoft Office Professional 2007

Hardware Requirements

You must have a Mac with an Intel-based dual processor

Software Requirements

  • Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 Operating System
  • Microsoft Office Standard or Professional Edition 2007 or 2003 with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • The installed versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint must be the same. All must be either the 2007 version or the 2003 version; they cannot be intermixed
    • Only the 2007 and 2003 versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint are supported by LeaderGuide Pro™ 7
  • Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1
  • Visual Studio for Office Runtime 3.0 (VSTOR30 and VSTOR30 SP1)
    • NOTE: The LGPro install program will check for the .Net Framework and Visual Studio Office System Runtime software. If it does not find them it will install them for you – as long as the person running the install has full System level administrator privileges and as long as there is an internet connection. Otherwise, please install the prerequisite software separately and then install LeaderGuide Pro™. Scroll down for links to the Microsoft web site location from which you can download these software programs.

NOTE: Unlike other software updates, Microsoft did not create the VSTOR30 SP1 update to include all components from the previous VSTOR30 release. Thus, both packages – VSTOR30 and VSTOR30 SP1 – must be downloaded and installed. First install VSTOR30 and then apply the VSTOR30 SP1 patch.
